Bath Care
Use a solution of soapy water and apply with a soft cloth or sponge in a brushing motion. Do not use wire brushes, steel wool & abrasive sponge pads. Rinse thoroughly with water immediately after the application of cleaners and wipe the surface leaving it completely dry after the process.
Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface and avoid dripping taps.
It is important not to use acidic cleaners or sprays as this will affect the surface of the bath and may result in small brown particles building up on the enamel surface or staining.
Custom Finish
Hurlingham Cast Iron Bath Finishes
Painted
Hurlingham believes that no one should have to settle or compromise; a bath should be an extension of individual décor decisions. To this end, Hurlingham offers customers a custom paint finish, replicating any paint hue, including the entire Farrow and Ball range. Additionally, a full selection of liquid metal paint finishes is available.
For more unusual selections, a physical sample is all that is needed to transform a bath into the standout item desired, completed in no time at all.
Leather
Hurlingham offers a selection of rich, high-quality leathers in various warm finishes, allowing for the creation of either a full surround or a luxurious rim. Each option results in a beautiful bath that serves as an attractive centerpiece for any bathroom.
The leather is cut to the individual bath's template (four pieces in total), with each seam stitched. Before fitting the leather, the bath is sanded to the smoothest possible finish to ensure no blemishes remain in the final product. A first stage glue is applied to the bath and left to set. The leather is then stretched, and a second stage of glue is applied before bonding the leather to the bath, which is then left to dry.
Only when the craftsman is fully satisfied is the final stage of waterproofing spray applied, repeated three times to fully protect the bath. This process ensures the bath can be used as much as desired without worrying about any damage to the leather.
Fabric
A swatch of the material is first taken to ensure it is of high enough quality to undergo the fitting and waterproofing process. Once approved, the cloth is transferred to the cutting table to create the perfect templates for the bath. Considerations include the pile of the fabric and the best direction for application, as well as the pattern, which must be highlighted effectively.
Once the best possible templates are ready, the various pieces are carefully cut. A heatproof adhesive is applied to both the bath and the fabric, the material is rolled into place, and pressure is applied to smooth out any imperfections or air bubbles. Particular care is taken throughout the process to ensure all seam lines are perfect. Finally, three coats of a special waterproofing spray are applied, giving the bath a fully waterproofed exterior, allowing it to be used like any other item within the bathroom.
Hand Gilded
Hurlingham's Hand Gilded service offers a unique and opulent finish. Customers can choose from real or faux gold, copper, pewter, and bronze leaf, providing the opportunity to create one of the most lavish and bespoke baths available, elevating bathroom design to new heights.
The hand gilding of baths is a highly skilled process carried out over several phases. Several different leaf finishes are available, all bespoke to individual requirements. Customers are welcome to meet with Hurlingham's gilders to discuss their design objectives.
If a variegated leaf or paint finish is chosen, a completely random and irregular effect can be expected.
